About

Located on the banks of Bluegrass Lake in West Knoxville, The Pavilion at Hunter Valley Farm offers 6,000 sq ft of heated and cooled event space with beautifully designed bride and groom suites, a caterer's kitchen, and the ability to open its glass walls for a more open-air feel. Our deck boasts a full brick fireplace, outdoor bar and comfortable furniture, while a nearby patio offers an outdoor dining option. The beach, located just steps from the building, is complete with gorgeous white sand and a strolling boardwalk to the Amphitheater. The outdoor Amphitheater is where you will find bench seating for up to 350 guests tucked away on the hillside and a paver aisle located right on the water, perfect for a ceremony, concert, or meeting space. We offer day-of event coordination, in-house floral and event design, and fully customizable packages.

History

Hunter Valley Farm opened in the mid 1980's as a family run show horse farm. We bred our cute ponies and also showed and trained Hunters and Jumpers all over the United States. There were always  several "barn kids" running around and we had upwards of 35 horses at a time! While horses and animals are still a huge passion for us, when the recession hit in 2007, a family meeting was called and it was decided that it was time for the land to grow and change into what is now The Pavilion at Hunter Valley Farm. Papa Joe (don't worry, I'm sure you will meet him on our grounds!) built the venue that Nancy and her mom, Becky, designed. It was, and always has been, a family endeavor. On the family note, our staff is very much a family, and our goal is to make you feel as though you are, too! We want you to be completely at ease and at home during your wedding or event.

Brittany Brown

Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations at The Pavilion at Hunter Valley Farm, I get the privilege to be present for some of the most important moments in the wedding planning process. From your initial tour, to your final meeting, to everything in between, I make it my mission to ensure you are receiving the highest level of attentiveness and am there to answer any questions throughout the process! While weddings are the bulk of my event load, I also thoroughly enjoy working closely with our corporate clients to bring their vision to life whether we are planning a holiday party, corporate retreat or anything in between! I am a graduate of The University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's Degree in Retail & Consumer Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. I am married to my college sweetheart, Taylor, and we have 3 dogs who run our home! Our favorite place to visit is Sedona, Arizona and we look forward to visiting that magical place every year!

Nancy Barger

Owner & Designer

Hi friends!! Technically speaking, I am the "boss lady", but that is so not how I see myself. We are a creative team and I couldn't do what I do without my "sisters" by my side! We have grown our brands (shameless plug for Swank Floral & Tallulah's) together to what you see today and I am so happy with where we have landed! I am a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management. I was a corporate pilot for almost 10 years flying jets with my sweet daddy, Papa Joe! I married my best friend Matt in 2011 and we have 4 wild kids and 2 of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet, Brisket the Bulldog and Wrigley, our Golden!!

Jenna Phillips

Sales & Event Manager

I joined The Pavilion team at 17 years old just looking for a fun summer internship, but fast forward 7ish years later and I’m still here! I started as Event Staff, became an Event Coordinator, and when I graduated from UTK with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management in December of 2019, I was so fortunate to be able to jump into a full time position here. Like Brittany, I also play a part in designing your important day (especially for those who tour and plan on Saturdays)! My job is all about the finishing touches. I get the joy of perfecting all of the minor details like straightening napkins, hanging arbor fabric, and so much more! My husband and I are newlyweds, and of course had the most incredible wedding at The Pavilion! We are in the midst of renovating our first home and training our 85 pound Bernedoodle puppy. There is truly never a dull moment!
